Best Tonkatsu in Myeongdong — 25-Layer Millefeuille Katsu, Free Refills
A 25-layer millefeuille katsu in the heart of Myeongdong — with free refills.

I work on a hotel facilities team in this neighborhood, and we don’t do tourist traps. Tucked just off Myeongdong’s main drag, this little shop stacks top-grade loin into 25 thin layers and fries it like the French layered cake it’s named after. It even made it onto TV — and the rice, soup and salad refill free.

What to Order
The menu is bigger than it looks — seven 25-layer katsu flavors, plus retro cutlets, curry, hamburg steak and noodles. Here are the highlights (the ones we tried have prices).

Eating solo?
A katsu set is the easiest solo lunch in Myeongdong. Order any cutlet (₩11,000–13,000) and refill the rice, soup and salad for free.
Love spicy?
Get the spicy gyeongyangsik (₩12,000). It’s buldak-level hot but moreish — keep the refillable rice and salad coming to balance it.

First-timer Guide
How to Order
- Order at the counter — pick a cutlet (cheese, spicy, or the classic).
- Rice, soup and salad refill free — just ask for more.
- Use the table sauces — there’s a tonkatsu sauce and a lighter one; a little goes a long way.
- Pay at the counter on your way out. Cards are fine. No tipping — ever, anywhere in Korea.
I keep hotels in this neighborhood running for a living, and this is where I actually eat. Staying at UH Suite Myeongdong or anywhere in Myeongdong? It’s a short walk for a crisp, layered lunch.
